Bruce Berman of Kingston, Ont., might be around to fill you in on the latest from Africa. His new book is Unhappy Valley: Conflict in Colonial Kenya and Africa (Ohio University Press, 1992). His last title, Control and Crisisin Colonial Kenya: The Dialectic of Domination won the Joel Gregory Prize from the Canadian Association of African Studies. Bruce is a political science professor at Queens University in Kingston. He and Elaine will celebrate their 25th next year. She is a senior planning officer at the Ontario Ministry of Health. Son Daniel attends Dalhousie University, and daughter Erica is a senior in high school.
In Philadelphia Dave Boldt married Kelly Clark, vice president of PG. Corbin and Co., financial consultants to state and city governments. They met while she was lobbying Dave, who is head of the editorial board of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Dave ended up lobbying for matrimony. At the wedding were Dave's dad, Joe Boldt '32, and son Tom '94. Dave wishes to thank classmates "who were so thoughtful and kind in writing to me after the death of my wife, Fereshteh, back in 1989."
Fred Jarrett of Pittsburgh has been elected to the executive council of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery. He's also secretary of the Dartmouth Medical School Alumni council and board member of the Three Rivers Shakespeare Festival. Fred and Esther visited France (including Paris) and Holland recently. (He's the only American member of the Dutch Surgical Society.) Son James rows and plays soccer at St. Paul's. Julia and Andrew are busy in Pittsburgh with athletics, music, and chess.
Richard Ahlstrand, Wichita, Kans., has been named fellow of the American College of Radiology.
Carl Fogelberg made partner at LaBrum and Do-akin the New York office of that Philadelphia law firm. He specializes in defense litigation, insurance coverage, products liability, wrongful death, and toxic torts. A George Washington University law graduate, Carl is a member of New York, Washington, and Vermont (naturally) bars.

In New Jersey Sam Cabot, president of Cabot Stains, New buryport, Mass., welcomed Don Landzettel '60, president of Lazon Paint, as Cabot's new Bergen County dealer. "Our conversation went quickly from business to reminiscing about our years in Hanover," said Sam.
Tom Holzel has been named marketing manager for display products at Raytheon s microwave and power tube division in Quincy. Raytheon's cathode ray tube assemblies are marketed to the military for installation on lighter planes. "The job is not the same as running your own company," said Tom, who was formerly CEO of Arcturus Inc., which modifies video projectors for computer display. "Military contractors have a terrible time understanding why marketing is necessary."
Citicorp president Rick Braddock has joined the board of the Tuck School. Son Brad '91 is in advertising in Paris; and Derek is a sophomore at Dartmouth.
