Greetings '76! Our reunion committee is hard at work preparing a terrific weekend for all of us attending our 30 th reunion June 15-18. In addition to the activities planned, the reunion also provides an opportunity for us to give back to the College that has given us all so much. In that vein, here's a note from our head agent, Scott McAllister.
"Our 30th reunion promises to be a celebration of great friends as well as a reconnection to a very special place and time in our lives. The class of 1976 has an important role in making this same experience available to todays students nd faculty through gifts to the Dartmouth College Fund. The fund is a key source of financial aid and current operations support for all of the programs and departments that enrich their daily lives.
"During the last four years our class giving has had a fantastic compounding effect. We smashed the 25th reunion record, which apparently sparked a competitive response from the classes following us. The class of 1977 smashed our record, then 1978 smashed theirs. We broke the records again for our 26th, 27th and 28th years-out and the succeeding classes stretched to beat us. The class of 1977 will probably do it again for its 29th year-out. Dartmouth truly appreciates that the class of 1976 gives gifts that seem to keep on giving.
"Lets up the ante for our 30th reunion! We have a great chance to smash the dollar-giving record again plus set a new standard for percent participation. Our large team of enthusiastic reunion giving volunteers has called many classmates already. If you have not yet answered their calls, please do so and join our class in making a huge difference for Dartmouth. If you already have made a pledge or gift, thank you for giving back to the College in this important way.
"Stretching is good in mid-life! Do you know any '76ers who have not been supporting the College? If so, please talk to them and encourage their participation for our 30th reunion. Together, we can broaden the class of 1976's reputation for leadership in alumni giving. Lets show off our pride in our Dartmouth heritage! "Join us in Hanover from June 15 to 18."
In other class news, Tim Caldwell was inducted into the Vermont Ski Museum in Putney, Vermont, in October 2005. Congratulations to Tim.
