Many of you already know the sad news that our classmate Bonnie Kramer Tonneson lost her battle against leukemia on August 9, fighting valiantly through four years and two remissions and relapses. Our hearts go out to her husband, Mike, and her daughters, 6- year-old Isabel and 4-year-old Devon. Bonnie's life truly inspired so many people. You can read the very touching eulogies given by her husband and others, including Katy Beierle Klinkenberg, at bonnietonneson.blogspot.com. Bonnie truly loved Dartmouth, as it loved her. In other news, Laura Fitch Mattson hit the wedding circuit this past summer and graciously shared some of the details. Mary Beth Basile tied the knot with Jim Chopas in July outside Boston. Among the revelers were Tom Palmer, Nicole Conte, Laurie Fanger Reed, Jennifer Byrnes Brower, Lenora Brown and Cindy Peterson Hamblett. Also in attendance was Kate Chanin, but more on her in a moment. Mary Beth and Jim were planning a move to North Carolina after a honeymoon in Greece. She previously taught law at Harvard and Temple and, according to Laura, will continue to teach and practice law when she moves South.

Kate Chanin was next down the nuptial aisle, getting married in late August at a vineyard on Long Island, overlooking the ocean. The many Dartmouth guests included some of the same classmates mentioned above (Nicole, Laurie Jennifer and Laura) plus Kristen von Summer Waldorf, Kristen Pisacano Casale, Jean Vendice and Leslie Bonnyman. Most had husbands and children in tow and a wonderful time was had by all.

Finally, a most heartfelt welcome to Claire Lynnea Cromheecke, who joined our national Independence celebration on July 4th by entering the world on that auspicious date. She joins siblings Jay and Anna and, of course, her parents, Todd and Jennifer (Block) Cromheecke.
