The class of 2013 named history professor David Lagomarsino the winner of the Jerome Goldstein Award for Distinguished Teaching. Lagomarsino, who started teaching at Dartmouth in 1974, is the second prof to earn the honor three times in its 34-year history. He also won in 1984 and 2005.

The new oral history of the late J.D. Salinger notes the reclusive author did get out once in a while: A resident of Cornish, New Hampshire, he was spotted at both men’s and women’s basketball games at Dartmouth in his later years. According to Salinger, he would sit alone “reading the program.”
