The College has dropped its requirement that all staff, faculty, and students provide documentation to prove they are vaccinated against Covid-19.

IT’S A MOVEMENT

Graduate students voted to unionize by a count of 261-33 this spring. “We are excited to bargain for a contract that secures better living and working conditions for all Dartmouth graduate workers,” read a press release from the Graduate Organized Laborers at Dartmouth.

Guitarist-vocalist Zach Nugent and his Dead Set band performed a songfor-song recreation of the Grateful Dead’s Thompson Arena concert from May 5, 1978. The show took place in May at the Lebanon Opera Flouse in New

Flampshire.

Women’s head basketball coach Adrienne Shibles has stepped down after two years in the position, during which the team won only five of 54 games.

USA Lacrosse magazine featured two-sport star Jenna Donohue ’24 in a recent issue. Following her ice hockey season finale at Brown in February, the psych major took a day off before starting lacrosse practice.

CALLED TO SERVE

Three alums will join the board of trustees in July: David McKenna ’89, Shonda Rhimes ’91, and Todd Sisitsky ’93.

NFL head honcho Roger Goodell spoke to the football team in May, sharing personal anecdotes and extolling the virtues of coach Buddy Teevens 79. Goodell’s wife baked brownies for the players.

A Spanish taperia and bakery, Duende, has opened in Flanover.

INTO THE LIGHT

Dartmouth students joined a suicide prevention walk in Flanover on May 7. The “Out of Darkness Walk” raised nearly $13,000.

Dartmouth researchers made headlines when they announced that baseball players are hitting more home runs due to global warming.

DOWN AND OUT

Flanover businesses continue to come and go. This spring, the True Value hardware store closed after more than a century in business.

GOODBYE GIFT

Faculty, staff, and students celebrated the tenure of outgoing President Phil Planlon 77 at several events during spring term. A $32-million scholars program has been established in his name.

WET AND WILD

The Ski Patrol held its sixth annual pond skim at the Dartmouth Skiway and has some gnarly videos to show for it. The event benefits the Veterans Affairs Adaptive Sports Program.

GONE TOO SOON

English and creative writing professor Monika Otter died in May. She was 64.
