Last fall Rory Mullet! and Heather returned from a splendid couple of weeks in the Southwest: Colorado Springs, Creed, and Durango, Colorado, and New Mexico. Undaunted and adventurous, they’ve already signed up for a Linblad expedition around Scotland and Ireland in May. Rory’s balance issues may preclude two or three Zodiac landings but should not prevent trips to the bar.
In August our esteemed hiking leader and Alumni Council representative Roger Hanlon had a hip replacement. This was his comment in the post-op period: “In part the hip replacement was to let me get back to more active hiking. My physical therapist and surgeon called me an ideal candidate despite the 86 years. My physical therapist said something I’m passing on: He said that I may not realize it but by staying in good physical shape, I have given myselfthe best possible gift. Keep moving and stay well.”
Bob Boye: “Briefly, I spend my idle time hand caning antique chairs (an almost disappearing craft that I picked up many years ago). I don’t charge for my services. Rather, I ask owners to contributeto myfavorite charity, Ridge Oak Senior Housing, which I have been involved with for more than 50 years. It provides 306 apartments for lowand moderate-income seniors in a beautiful setting. See its website, ridgeoak.org.”
If you want to read Class Notes you should contribute. Ofthe 429 remaining members of our class, only one sent me news for this issue.
