ANNUAL FRESHMAN RECEPTION

With President Tucker giving the address of welcome the annual freshman reception under the auspices of the Dartmouth Christian Association was held at the Commons Saturday evening, Sept. 26, with a larger attendance than ever before. The leaders of various lines of activity in the College explained to the Freshman the opportunities open to him to become a factor in college life, while entertainment was afforded by a mandolin trio and a quartet from the glee club, under the leadership of M. Hull '09. A. C. Keough '11 also gave a selection of readings.

Those who spoke for the athletic teams and other organizations were Captain G. F. Kennedy, Football; Mgr. J. K. Mason, Baseball; Mgr. George Burns, Track Team; S. W. Leighton, Hockey; Rev. F. L. Janeway of the College Church, for the churches of Hanover; R. L. Theller, Debating; H. E. Meleney, the Dartmouth; T. C. Wellsted, President of the Dramatic Club; F. A. Carroll, business manager of the Dartmouth Magazine; and M. Hull, leader of the Glee Club.
