THREE NOTED AMERICAN physical scientists and one social scientist were scheduled to address seniors in the Great Issues course for the section on "Science and the Quality of Progress."
Fairfield Osborn, president of The Conservation Foundation and author of the recent best-seller, Our Plundered Planet, was to speak Oct. 25 on the subject, "Is Man in the Ecological Circle?". Dr. James B. Fisk, Professor of Applied Physics, Harvard University, and formerly Director of Research for the Atomic Energy Commission, will lecture Nov. 1 on "Some Immediate Problems in Atomic Energy."
Dr. Alan Gregg, Director of the Medical Sciences, Rockefeller Foundation, will discuss "Biology as Applied to Human Affairs" Nov. 8, and Hadley Cantril '28, Professor of Psychology and Director of the Office of Public Opinion Research, Princeton University, will conclude the section with a talk Nov. 15 on "Objectives for the Social Sciences."
