Mr. Charles Walker Pickering of Greenland, U. H., has established a prize of twenty-five dollars in His alma mater, in the name of the class of '59, at whose semicentennial anniversary it will be awarded for the first time, to be given to the member of the senior or junior class who shall at the close of the year present the best thesis on a historical subject to be assigned by the faculty. It is Mr. Pickering's intention to make an annual contribution for this purpose as long as he is living, and to make liberal provision for its maintenance thereafter.
Secretary, Dr. Edward Cowles, 419 Boylston St., Boston
