Harlan C. Pearson, who was secretary to Governors Bachelder, McLane, and Floyd of New Hampshire, has been continued in the same position by Governor Quinby.

Arthur D. Arnold, principal of the Passaic, N. J., High School, can count fifty-two of his former pupils in that school who are now students in higher institutions of learning (including four boys at Dart- mouth), and during the past year fifty-one graduates of his commercial course have secured good business positions.

Frederick N. Chandler has been elected city solicitor of Lawrence, Mass.
