CONCERNING THE GENERAL CATALOGUE
November, 1911 CHARLES F. EMERSON

Oct. 16, 1911

To the Editor of the Alumni Magazine, Dear Sir:

I greatly regret the delay in the issuing of the General Catalogue, but the delay has been caused by an excessive amount of work in the office, together with repeated correspondence necessary to obtain facts so as to make the book accurate and reliable. If all had answered circular letters on their receipt, it would have expedited matters; it has taken several letters in many cases to secure a response.

The larger part of the Catalogue is now in type and unless something unforeseen happens, the book will be issued in December. It is to be a very large volume on account of the great increase in the number of graduates and also because we are to include the names of non-graduates as well. The list of non-graduates will appear in alphabetical order in the last part of the Catalogue. We are also preparing a list of living graduates according to geographical location, which we think will be a very useful part of the book.

If those who have ordered the book and others who are looking for its appearance will exercise patience, I am confident they will feel repaid when the book appears.

Very truly yours,
