Just prior to the B.C. encounter Coach Blackman was quoted as saying, "It's like David going against Goliath." And so it was, only this time Goliath won. Hardly had the 17,000 fans got settled in the B.C. stadium at Chestnut Hill when the Eagles took, to the air, completing three consecutive passes for some 56 yards. Then came an end run for six yards and a score. The conversion kick was good and B.C. went ahead 7-0.

The Big Green came right back and in a really fine display of passing and rushing went 79 yards in 13 plays to score. Quarterback Bill Gundy, back in action after a two-week layoff, clicked with several good passes and ran well twice on the option play, while Jake Crouthamel ripped through the B.C. line like a hungry tiger. A Gundy-to-Crouthamel pass brought the TD, but the Indians' attempt to rush for two points did not work.

Minutes later the Big Green had a golden opportunity when B.C. fumbled a punt on their 19-yard line and the Indians recovered. However, the Eagle defense tightened and when a pass to Dave Usher, which would have brought a first down, was fielded instead of caught, B.C. took over and marched 83 yards, chiefly on the ground, for their second score. They added another tally before the half ended and there was little doubt from this point on.

In the fourth quarter back Phil Clark recovered a fumble on the B.C. 17-yard line and Gundy passed to Dave Usher on the 5-yard line and then to halfback Al Rozycki for the score. The conversion kick went wide and Dartmouth's scoring was through.
