Dartmouth opened the season in a most favorable manner. The fielding and hitting would have done credit to a mid-season college team. Not an error was made by Dartmouth. The nine hits were so distributed that practically all-counted in the final score.

Dartmouth out-batted West Point. Unfortunate errors and the free hitting of Hallett cost the Green the game.
