John Kivel of Dover has been nominated by Governor Felker and confirmed by the council as judge of the Superior Court of New Hampshire to fill a vacancy caused by death. Says a newspaper comment: "John Kivel knows law and men, combines dignity with cheerful good-fellowship, firmly upholds the majesty of the state, and yet recognizes the tempering quality of mercy. To hundreds throughout New Hampshire who enjoy his friendship his appointment to the superior bench is regarded as the proper placing of a deserved honor."
