SOPHOMORE-FRESHMAN DEBATE

After an exceedingly close contest, the sophomore debating team defeated the freshmen by a two to one decision.

The victorious team defended the affirmative side of the question: Resolved, That tolls should be laid upon vessels engaged in the American coastwise trade passing through the Panama Canal.

Professor Hastings presided over the debate, and Professor Lingley, Professor Page, and Mr. Meservey acted as judges.
