The house at 23 North Main Street, acquired by the College and remodeled this summer, is to be known henceforth as the Freeman House. For many years this house was owned and occupied by Peyton Freeman and his maiden sisters. Freeman was a graduate of the College in the class of 1797, practiced law in Portsmouth, N. H., for many years, but spent his later life in Hanover. His father, Jonathan Freeman, was an early trustee of the College.
The Kappa Sigma fraternity house on Webster Avenue has recently been completed. It is a stucco building of bungalow type, the first of its kind to be erected in Hanover.
The Phi Kappa Psi House on School Street, formerly the home of Dr. William Thayer Smith, has this summer been remodeled and entirely refinished.
