On the morning of August 16, 1914, the class of '11 lost from their ranks one of the most loyal and likable members, Harry Butler.
Harry Butler, a resident of Fort Dodge, Iowa, entered Dartmouth in the fall of '07, and while in College he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and the Casque and Gauntlet senior society. He was also business manager of The Dartmouth. In the fall of 1911 he entered the University of Chicago Law School, and was elected president of his class. He finished his law course in June, 1914.
Shortly after his return to Fort Dodge, he became stricken with a form of blood poisoning, which resulted in his untimely death, at a moment when he was ready, after seven years of hard study, to enter the business of life. Letters of condolence have been sent to his family by the class.
