Fifty-two entering freshmen, fathers, and alumni were on hand for a pre-college dinner at the Princeton Club Thursday, September 8. Clark Bryant '57 gave an undergraduate's bird's-eye view of what the freshmen could expect. Two color films, My First Week atDartmouth and Hanover - 1947 were shown.

It is with deep regret that we note the passing of Dr. H. Sheridan Bakelel '95, one of the staunchest supporters of Dartmouth in our area and father of Sherry Baketel '20, another loyal Philadelphia alumnus.

It is with pleasure that we congratulate James K. Tindle '36 on his election as a rneraber-at-large of the Alumni Council. For many years, Jim has done a superb job in the timeconsuming work of obtaining excellent candidates for admission to Dartmouth from the Philadelphia area. He has also been a gracious host for many Philadelphia Club activities.

The Philadelphia alumni meet for luncheon every Monday at noon at the Princeton Club, Locust and Camac Streets in downtown Philadelphia. The facilities of the Princeton Club are also available to Dartmouth Club members at any other time they wish to avail themselves of them. Luncheons, dinners, and drinks are served; and there are lounges with current periodicals and television.
