The Columbia Alumni News printed recently some statistics showing the number of students from which material for varsity sports must be drawn in various institutions. These figures show Cornell to have the largest number available, while Chicago, has the fewest, with Dartmouth next to the bottom of' the list, but almost on a par with Princeton. In the figures for total registration, extension and summer courses have been omitted, but it has not been possible in every case to give the exact number of men and women students in the institution. In the table given below the first column shows total registration, the second indicates the number of men available for varsity teams, the third for freshman teams, and the fourth shows the number of varsity sports.
