Dartmouth 29—Springfield 24

The second swimming team to represent Dartmouth started its season auspiciously Tan. 20 by defeating the mermen of Springfield Y. M. C. A. College, 29 to 24, at Springfield, shattering three Springfield records in the process. Captain Bird plunged the length of the 60 foot pool in 24 2-5 seconds, winning his event in record time with Farnsworth, following. Eiche, of Dartmouth, won the 220-yard swim, and took third place in the 100 yard dash; Taylor, of Dartmouth, tied with Eastman, of Springfield, for a first in the 40 yard dash; Bolles finished third in the 40 yard dash, and Carlisle third in the 220, while Weed took third place in the diving. The relay race also went to the Hanover swimmers.

Dartmouth 43—Williams 7

The Carnival swimming meet between Dartmouth and Williams proved a washout for the Massachusetts team, Sid Hazleton's swimmers taking first place in every event, and second in every event except the plunge, in which Jones, of Williams, nosed out Farnsworth. Captain Bird won the plunge event handily, making a distance of 75 feet; Weed and Little, of Dartmouth, took first and second in the diving; Dempsey and Bolles procured similar positions in the 50 yard dash; Taylor and Ellis in the 100 yard dash, and Eiche and Hudson in the 220 yard event. The relay race went to Dartmouth also, the Green swimmers winning in 1 minute 56 seconds.
