An eight concert trip south along the. coast took the place this year of the usual Western tour of the Musical Clubs. Everywhere the clubs were received very heartily, especially in the south, where they had a taste of real traditional, southern hospitality.
The clubs left Hanover March 31, performing that evening at Lawrence, Mass. The following day they appeared in Boston, and April 3 in Baltimore. A special matinee concert at the Walter Reed hospital in Washington was put on for the benefit of the soldiers who were disabled in the war. That evening the clubs gave their regular, concert at the New Willard Hotel in the same city. Charlotte, N. C., Athens, Ga., and Atlanta, Ga., were the other places visited.
Besides the usual pieces by the glee and mandolin clubs, the program of the concerts included selections by the banjo club, the campus quartet, and a string quartet, a piano solo by L. H. Ross '23, and a special dance by W. E. Sands '22.
