Dartmouth in Asia

Dartmouth looks east. On a short stop-over in Bangkok before joining a solar eclipse cruise last March, William Magenau '29, seated right, got together with David Karukin '48, seated left, president of the Dartmouth Club of Thailand, and Preston Baker '76, standing, club secretary. They are shown on the rice terraces in Ifugao, the Philippines, on a field trip for International Rice Research Institute. Prof. Huke reports that there are four recent Dartmouth grads in the Peace Corps in the Philippines the highest ratio from any college or university.
