Norwich, as usual, proved a stubborn opponant, for the first testing of a new team, and held Dartmouth scoreless throughout the first half of the game. The usual early season raggedness and uncertainty of play was noticeable and Dartmouth felt the sting of numerous penalties for holding and off-side play which effectually checked every attack almost as soon as the attack had been begun. The Norwich line proved stout and sturdy and the nearest approach to a Dartmouth score was made in the closing minutes of the half by Captain Aschenbach, whose 53 yard placement kick just fell short of the cross bar. A previous golden opportunity had been missed when within ten yards of the Norwich goal line the Dartmouth attack faltered, a five yard penalty for off-side was incurred, and the ball surrendered to the opposing team after an incompleted forward pass. Calder missed the try for point.

Dartmouth scored early in the third period. Loomis made thirty yards on the third play after the kick off; Calder carried the ball IS yards further, Loomis and Leavitt together took the ball to the fifteen yard line, and Dooley, following another long gain by Leavitt, made the touchdown. The remainder of the period was listless.

In the final period after several good starts which penalties rendered ineffectual, Dooley accomplished a 35 yard forward pass to Bjorkman which placed the ball within four yards of another touchdown. Kelley added the six points after Leavitt had narrowed the distance to two feet. Bolles kicked the goal.
