Spring football practice came to an end on Saturday, May 11, with a final game scrimmage that was productive of healthier blocking and tackling than has been witnessed in Hanover for a long time. The white-jerseyed regulars scored six touchdowns against the second-string Greens, despite the latter's sturdy opposition, with long forwards and short plunges featuring the first team's advance.

Particular attention has been given this spring to individual play, with occasional scrimmages utilized to tie together the work of the different groups under Coaches Blaik, Ellinger, Gustafson and Donchess. Along with the stress on individual proficiency, a real effort has been made by the coaches to build the men up physically for the stiff fall schedule.

At the conclusion of spring practice, Coach Blaik expressed himself as well pleased with the progress made. "We've come a long way in blocking and tackling," he declared in an interview by The Dartmouth. "It's been cleaner, harder hitting, and these fundamentals have been the features of the games. And I would like to say that the freshman squad did a great deal to insure the success of practice this spring. They showed they like a good rugged game."

The Green head coach predicts that the Dartmouth passing attack will be greatly improved this fall and that there will likewise be marked improvement in the team's kicking game. The end and center positions seem best fortified at the present writing, with the loss of Don Erion and Vic Kiarsis making the tackle problem most acute. Coach Blaik has yet to find the running back for whom he has confessed himself on the lookout.
