The number of graduates of the College, or men who have been registered as students, who have in recent years entered upon work of a distinctly exploring and adventurous type is worthy of comment. It should also be noted that in practically every case the men were active in the work of the Outing Club and it is a safe assumption that their experience in the Club contributed in no small degree to their decision to undertake such work and their effectiveness in it. A list, which is probably by no means complete, follows:
Edwin P. Hayden '16, one winter in Labrador with Grenfel.
Edgar S. Winters '16, commercial work and hunting in China.
Kenneth P. Emery '20, two voyages to the South Sea Islands for scientific work.
Richard H. Goddard '20, two trips to Baffin Land with the McMillan expedition.
Jonathan R. Titcomb '23, appointed as a member of an expedition for studying and exploring in South America.
Duncan S. McDougall '25, appointed as a member of an expedition to the Gobi Desert.
