Hanover maintained its tradition of republicanism at the recent election, giving President Coolidge 552, Davis 249 and La Follette 64 votes. Several of those connected with the College were candidates for various office and all received very gratifying totals.
Prof. Charles A. Holden, director of the Thayer School, and Prof. James P. Richardson of the Political Science department, will represent the town at the next session of the New Hampshire legislature and Mr. Arthur P. Fairfield will hold the seat in the New Hampshire Senate from the fifth district.
Prof. Harry E. Burton of the Latin Department was re-elected as moderator of the town by an almost unanimous vote.
A straw vote of the academic faculty conducted by The Dartmouth just before the election gave Coolidge 70, Davis 65 and La Follette 35 votes.
