Dartmouth 1928 9—Dean Academy 6
December 1924

The freshmen encountered sterner opposition at Norwood, Mass., the following Friday when Dean Academy yielded 9-6 only after a bitter fight. Murphy, playing fullback for Dean, was instrumental in swelling the scores of both teams. A bad pass from his center in the second period went over his head and when he allowed himself to be brought down behind his own goal line after recovering the ball he contributed the first two of the Green's points.

In the third period he made amends to his supporters by intercepting a Green forward on his 10-yard line and romping 65 yards toward the Dartmouth goal. Dean soon scored but failed to kick the goal. Foster, '28 quarterback, turned in an even prettier piece of running in the final quarter when he caught the ball on his 16-yard line and eluded six tacklers in the course of an 80-yard run which placed the Green in scoring position. Reece smashed over on the next play and Phillips clinched the game by kicking the point after touchdown.
