The Educational Investigation
December 1924

Mr. Emerson then 'introduced Professor L. B. Richardson '00, chairman of the Faculty Committee on Education Policy. During the second semester of the last year Mr. Richardson had travelled among the universities and colleges in this country and England with a view to determine if possible how the educational process at Dartmouth might be improved. He outlined the history and scope of the investigation, referring to the important contribution made by the Undergraduate Committee of seniors last year. Among the features which impressed him in the English system was the attention paid to exceptional students and among the difficulties he encountered was the lack of agreement among all educational authorities as to exactly what constituted the ideal curriculum. He was listened to with the greatest interest and discussion ensued which was only termi- nated by lack of time for its continuance.
