ASCHENBACH TO ASSIST AS FOOTBALL COACH

Cyril G. Aschenbach '23, captain of the 1923 football team, has been appointed assistant coach of the varsity football squad by the Athletic Council, and will have complete charge of the winter and spring practice sessions. Aschenbach prepared for Dartmouth at the East Orange, (N.J.) High School where he played football for three years. He entered Dartmouth in 1919 and played on the freshman team of that year. He was a member of the varsity football team in 1920 but was ineligible for play in 1921. In 1922 he won his first varsity letter in football and was elected to captain the team for the following season. At the end of the last season Aschenbach was selected for Ail-American honors by many writers, including Xen Scott, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He was placed on Walter Camp's second All-American team and on the second All-American team picked by a consensus of the opinions of the most prominent sporting writers in the east. He is a member of the 1924 Palaeopitus, of the Sigma Chi fraternity, and of the Sphinx senior society.
