Dartmouth lost its first quadrangular league ball game in Hanover April 30, when Cornell defeated the Green on Memorial Field by a score of 5 to 1. The Ithaca team went into the lead in the first inning, scoring when Cooper walked, stole second, and was brought in by Shaw's single. Dartmouth evened the count in the third inning, when Vickers, of Cornell, had a spasm of wildness and issued three bases on balls. Thereafter the game was a pitcher's battle between Vickers and Van Riper until the eighth inning when the Dartmouth moundsman weakened and allowed two passes and three hits to result in four Cornell runs.

A three base hit by Vickers, the Cornell pitcher, a double by Van Riper, the Dartmouth pitcher, and the fielding of Michelini at second base for Dartmouth were the high spots of the contest. Michelini was credited with nine put outs and no errors.
