COLLEGE IMPROVES FACILITIES OF ATHLETIC COUNCIL AT GYM
May, 1924

Greater operating efficiency for the Athletic Council and better entertainment facilities for visiting and officials are promised by alterations in Alumni Gymnasium.

The present office of Graduate Manager Norton will be turned over to the football applications department during the fall and to the major sports managers during the remainder of the year. A private office for the use of the Graduate Manager and a council room has been built directly in back of the present Graduate Manager's Room, and between the main corridor and the new Graduate Manager's office a small room has been set aside for the use of the athletic heelers.

The faculty locker room is to be moved across the hall from its present location and the visiting teams will then have a locker room in room D instead of room E as before. Room E, formerly usqd by Eddie Shevlin and the boxing squad, will be the locker room for the home teams.

A large store room, equipped with shelves and other facilities, has taken the place of one of the manager's offices. This room will be in the charge of a paid attendant who will check up all equipments Managers will draw equipment from this room and then keep that which cannot be returned each day in the large lockers which have been provided in the old store room.

The swimming department still retains the office nearest the Spaulding Pool entrance but one of the other three offices there will be made into a ladies' rest room and the other converted into a dressing room for officials.

The gallery overlooking the main floor of the gymnasium has been practically abolished, only the first two rows of seats remaining, and three rooms for the joint use of the boxing squad and the fencing team are being built in the rear. A large room in the center will be flanked* on, both sides by smaller ones to be used for offices.
