The chief building operations during the summer have to do with the additions to the rear of the Administration Building and the remodeling of Thornton Hall. An addition to Parkhurst Hall is being made to the rear to allow greater seating capacity in the Faculty Room and fnore space in the basement and first story of the building. Work on Thornton Hall is now nearly completed and will allow for office space and added recitation rooms as in the case of Wentworth Hall.
The fifty-room addition to the Hanover Inn has now been completed and was enjoyed to the full during the Commencement season.
Plans are being prepared for the president's house on Webster Avenue but at the time of going to press ground has not been broken. It is also expected that in the near future several fraternities will build, on lots which they have procured on Webster Avenue.
Building in the town during the spring has largely been confined to faculty residences, the chief development being on the west side of Rope Ferry Road and on the open spaces to the south of the town along the road to West Lebanon. Plans are also well advanced for a new grade school to be built on Lebanon Street near Memorial Field.
