Weather more pleasing to the spectator than the hockey player, considerably slowed up the Carnival hockey game with the Elis. The second period was nearly over before a brisk scrimmage in front of the Green net produced the first Yale counter. The Yale team was displaying superior form but until that time had been unable to make it count.
The Hanoverians came on the ice for the third period determined to even the score. Team work seemed impossible because of the condition of the ice and in a beautiful bit of individual playing Mills took the puck the length of the rink and enabled Manser to score. This tally was the signal for Coach Wanamaker to produce a second team of Bulldog skaters nearly the 'equal of the first. The fresh Blue players were soon able to score again and the third New Haven counter was easy when Anthony was drawn out of the net to make a brilliant stop and left the cage unprotected for the shot which followed the rebound.
Captain Everett unexpectedly returned to the Green lineup but lacked his valuable aggressiveness. Captain Jenkins, Eli goalie, was the outstanding man on his team.
