After the disappointing showing against Columbia the College was pleasantly surprised to read of the basketball team's victory over Pennsylvania in the game played in Philadelphia January 16, which Dartmouth won by a score of 32 to 27.
The game was opened by a strong Dartmouth attack which Pennsylvania stubbornly resisted and strongly countered, both teams playing a fast game until the close of the first period, when Dartmouth led 18 to 14. The game was continued at the same high speed throughout the second period, with Dartmouth maintaining the lead.
Whittaker, of Dartmouth, who scored five baskets from scrimmage and four from the foul line was responsible for 14 of Dartmouth s points.
