Dr. John Dallas, former rector of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, who left Hanover early in October to become assistant dean of St. Paul's Cathedral in Boston, has announced his acceptance of his recent election as bishop of the Episcopal diocese of New Hampshire.
Dr. Dallas will not, in all probability, be consecrated in his new office until after Easter because the action pf the New Hampshire body will have to be submitted to the standing committee and the bishops of all other dioceses in the country for their approval. Following the consecration he will become rector of St. Paul's Church in Concord and it is believed that he will take up residence in that city, where the diocese owns a large residential estate.
Dr. Dallas came to Hanover in 1920, after a long term of service at the Taft School. He was graduated from Yale in 1904, and from Union Theological Seminary in 1908.
Dr. John T. Dallas Dartmouth conferred upon him the honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity in 1922.
