Rev. and Mrs. William Slade sailed February 9 from New York on the Empress of France for a cruise in the Mediterranean, visiting among other points Palestine and Egypt. They expect to return about the middle of April.
Joseph S. Matthews, assistant attorney general of New Hampshire since 1915, has been appointed by Governor Winant an associate justice of the Superior Court of the state.
