March, 1926

The Dartmouth hockey team closed its home season on Memorial Field, February 17, by defeating Massachusetts Institute of Technology 7 to 1. The Green gained a substantial lead by piling up four goals in the first period of play, and although the Boston team played a fast and hard game was able almost all of the time to keep its cage free from attack.

Lane scored the first Dartmouth goal unassisted and was followed shortly afterward by Manser. The lone M. I. T. tally was then registered when Captain Randall broke through the Green defense and slipped the puck past Ahthony. Lane scored again on a rebound shot and Fryberger, without assistance, added the final goal of the period.

Captain Manser scored twice for Dartmouth in the second period and in the final period Lane and Hardy exhibiting a beautiful passing game contributed the feature play of the day to enable Lane once more to cage the puck. The team was without the services of Everett, whose injuries in the Williams game kept him confined to the hospital.
