MINIMUM POINT .RULING AFFECTS ALL CLASSES
March, 1926

A new ruling of the Committee on Administration, setting up a minimum point requirement at the conclusion of a student's second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth semesters, went into effect at the end of the past semester. This ruling is in addition to the requirement that in order not to be subjected to disciplinary action students must pass four of their five courses during a semester.

The number of points required after the second semester are 35, at the end of the third 60, at the end of the fourth 85, at the end of the fifth 112, at the end of the sixth 140. This rule does not apply to men completing the first semester, and not to those, completing the seventh semester.

The cases are first investigated by the respective class officers, who are required to report to the faculty committee all men who do not meet these minimum requirements at the specified times. Each class officer may, as well, report other men who might meet the requirements but whose work has been consistently of an inferior standard.

In some instances the class officers will recommend that action be taken or not. In everinstance, however, the final authority is the faculty committee; and this group will consider individually the case of each man.
