Norwich University swordsmen opposed members of the Dartmouth fencing team in the first series of foils and sabre clashes of the Hanover season. The meet, which was won by Dartmouth by a score of 12 to 1, marked the return of the Green fencers to intercollegiate competition after the lapse of a year.
The Dartmouth fencers won their second meet at Ithaca where Cornell was defeated 7 to 6. G. I. Cetrulo '28, who won two of the three foils matches and both his sabre matches, led in the Dartmouth scoring.
Cetrulo was largely responsible for a Dartmouth victory over the fencers of Hamilton College at Clinton, N. Y., March 12. He won all five of his bouts in a meet which went to the Dartmouth team by a score of 8 to 5.
Dartmouth's swordsmen met defeat for the first time during the season at Hanover, March 6, when the foil wielders of M. I. T. won six of the nine scheduled bouts. For M. I. T. Levis, who won all of his bouts was the high scorer, while for Dartmouth C. I. Cetrulo '28 won from Captain Hawthorne and from Campone, of the visitors.
