The track and swimming teams will swing into action this month. Led by Bob Michelet, captain and hammer-thrower, the Green trackmen will engage in the B. A. A. Games at Boston on February 10; while the swimmers, paced by Captain Dick Banfield, will make their 1934 bow against Springfield on February 3. The present season is Harry Hillman's twentyfifth as Dartmouth track coach.
Although "dropped" by the Athletic Council as far as financial support goes, the tennis and golf teams have arranged full schedules on their own, and the lacrosse team, holder of the New England championship, plans to follow suit. Gym, the fourth sport curtailed by the Council, is not likely to go in for intercollegiate competition this year.
The Intramural Department will extend its range of activity on March 3, when Harvard's intramural champions in wrestling, boxing, and basketball come to Hanover to meet the winners in Dartmouth's championship tournaments.
