For the first time since 1919, The American year Book, a cyclopedic annual sponsored by an association composed of fifty learned societies, has appeared with a record of events and progress during 192S. Professors Albert Bushnell Hart of Harvard and William Schuyler of Columbia are the editors, the publisher being the Macmillian Company. Among the contributors are Professors Stuart A.. Rice and Malcolm M. Willey of the Department of Sociology at Dartmouth, who present a joint treatment of the topic, "Sociology Applied to History and Government."
A recent inquiry among the students of their classes has provided Professors Malcolm M. Willey and Stuart A. Rice of the Sociology Department with the data for an article on "College Men and the Birth Rate—A Note on the Present Day Undergraduate Mores Relating to Family Size," which appears in the Journal of Heredity for January.
