Dartmouth 4, Quantico 3
The Dartmouth baseball team, appearing in the open air for the first time this year, defeated the Quantico Marines by a score of 4 to 3, at Quantico, Va., March 27. The contest went 10 innings, Owl, of Dartmouth, forcing the decision at last by a triple which scored the winning run. Dartmouth sent three pitchers to the mound during the afternoon, all of whom turned in creditable performances. Carver, held the Marines to three hits and one run during the first six frames, Van Riper did fairly well, though allowing four hits and two runs until relieved by Lane in the ninth inning, and Lane kept the opposition at bay until the close of the game. Both teams were credited with seven hits, but whereas the Green nine played errorless ball the Marines were charged with three miscues.
William and Mary 7, Dartmouth 6
At Williamsburg', Va., March 29, the William and Mary nine outscored Dartmouth 7 to 6 in a free-hitting game featured by four home runs. Dartmouth pitchers were touched up for 14 hits, three of which were home runs, and one of which, Captain Kahn's four base blow, gave the southerners their victory in the ninth inning. Dartmouth batters collected 10 hits, one of which was a home run by Owl. Two errors were marked against the Green and one against William and Mary.
Dartmouth 5, U. N. C. 4
The third start of the season was won by Dartmouth when, again by a one run margin, the University of North Carolina was defeated S to 4 at Chapel Hill, March 31. For e'ght innings the hill dwellers led the Green team. Then an error, a base on balls, and hits by Dey and Elliott scored three Dartmouth runs and carried Coach Tesreau's men beyond the southerners. Lane, pitching for Dartmouth, allowed the North Carolina men seven hits while his team-mates were gathering nine from the offer.ngs of the North Carolina hurler. Dartmouth 7, N. C. S. 4
On Thursday, April 1, at Raleigh, N. C., the Dartmouth team won another victory, defeating North Carolina State 7to 4. The batting of Elliott, for Dartmouth, and a long home run by Wade, of State College, were the features of the game. For the Hanover team Van Riper and Gibson did the pitching and allowed but four hits while Dartmouth secured five.
Dartmouth 3, Oglethorpe 2
Another 10 inning battle took place in Atlanta, Ga., where Dartmouth won from Oglethorpe 3 to 2, April 2. The hitting and pitching of Carver, for Dartmouth, were the outstanding performances of the day. At bat Carver collected three hits, one of these, in the ninth inning, sending the game into the extra period. Fusonie's double and a single by Picken scored Dartmouth's victory in this additional frame.
Oglethorpe 5, Dartmouth 0
The Oglethorpe men took their revenge on the Dartmouth team in Atlanta, April 3, shutting out the Green nine by a score of 5 to 0. Lane, who started on the mound for Dartmouth, was assaulted viciously in the first inning, and Oglethorpe batters in that frame accounted for four runs and five hits. He was replaced by Gibson, who, throughout the remainder of the game, allowed but one hit and one run, but Dartmouth was unable to profit by such pitching. The Oglethorpe hurler held the Green team to three hits. Dartmouth players were guilty of three errors, while Oglethorpe men were held accountable for two.
Fordham 3, Dartmouth 2
Returning northward Coach Tesreau's men encountered the Fordham University team, at New York, April 5, and lost another close one when Feaster, of Fordham, with the score at two all, tripled in the eighth inning, and scored on a Dartmouth error. For Dartmouth Fusonie and Owl did well at bat, leading a Green attack which produced nine hits while Carver was holding Fordham to six. Fordham players made three errors, and Dartmouth men two.
Dartmouth 2, Holy Cross 1
After two weeks spent indoors because of the year's unusually backward weather, the Dartmouth team emerged once more, April 19, and at Worcester defeated Holy Cross for the first time in a decade. The game was a tight one throughout, the Green team winning 2 to 1. Carver, for Dartmouth, and Davidson, for Holy . Cross, were the star performers of the day, staging a pitcher's battle which kept the game scoreless until the last half of the seventh inning. Then Davidson drew a base on balls, advanced to second and third on infield outs, and scored on a Dartmouth error.
Stanley won the game for Dartmouth in the ninth inning, when his screaming triple to left field scored Owl and Hudgins. Two men were out when Owl reached first base on an error and Hudgins singled, preceding Stanley's appearance at bat.
Carver and Davidson allowed but three hits apiece during the game.

Dartmouth 10, Springfield 4
Fresh from its victory over Holy Cross the Dartmouth nine journeyed to Springfield where on April 20 it defeated the Springfield Y. M. C. A. College team by a score of 10 to 4. The game was featured by the slugging of the Dartmouth players led by Fusonie, who, in five times at bat, knocked out four two-base hits. Fusonie's fourth double came in the eighth inning with the bases full.
