In the May 8, 1946 issue of Pass Times, 3rd Army weekly of Garmisch Partenkirchen, Germany, the lead article describes the record-breaking scaling of Mt. Kramer in the Garmisch area by three 3rd Army Veterans, Colin Stewart Jr. '48, Karl Bohler, and Warren Kavanaugh. Completely smashing the old record of four hours, the three Gls reached the summit in 2 hours, 45 minutes.

Pvt. Stewart, a Hanover, N. H., lad and the son of Dr. Colin C. Stewart '23, was a member of the Dartmouth ski team while at College and was a member of the ETO ski team competing in the downhill and slalom this past season. One of his major collegiate vic: tories was winning the cross-country event of the Lake Placid Sno-Birds' 1944 Tournament.
