Gibson, who started on the mound for Dartmouth against Wesleyan, May 15, in Hanover, failed to weather a second inning storm during which he was touched for three runs, but the Green team, treating Wesleyan's pitcher even more rudely, won a 9 to 3 decision.

The Connecticut team started its activity when Dieter, who drew a base on balls, scored on Silloway's triple. Silloway then scored on Wielland's single to center, Kennedy was passed and Manuel hit safely to fill the bases. At this juncture Van Riper replaced Gibson for Dartmouth, and though striking out two men was unable to steady himself quickly enough to prevent the forcing of another run by means of a base on balls.

In the Dartmouth half of the inning Elliott walked, advanced to second on a passed ball and scored when Stevens hit safely. Dey's drive down the third base line forced Stevens at that station but McLaughlin's hit advanced him to Stevens' place. Van Riper was passed and the bases were full when Owl's sacrifice hit scored both Dey and McLaughlin. A twobase hit by Hudgins then scored Van Riper and an error on Stanley's grounder gave Hudgins an opportunity to tally.

Dartmouth counted again in the third inning when a two-bagger by Dey Scored Elliott and Stevens, again in the fourth when Picken who was given a life at first stole second and third and counted when Elliott doubled, and finally in the seventh inning when Elliott, who had singled and stolen second, crossed the plate as Stevens hit safely.
