A slugging match at New Haven April 29 resulted in a victory for Yale over Dartmouth by a score of 17 to 10. Dartmouth's artillery again took an early lead, Picken finding the range for a home run with two men on bases in the first inning. Three more runs were credited to the Green in the second inning as the result of a three-base hit by Dey, singles by McLaughlin and Lane, and two infield outs.

The Yale batters started their assault in their half of the third inning. Two errors, three bases on balls, one batter hit by a pitched ball, and four clean hits resulted in six runs. Yale added four more runs in the fourth inning and kept the total mounting until the end of the game. For Dartmouth Lane, Blodgett, and Gibson all saw service in the pitching box.
