Just about the time that you alumni will be reading your copy of the "Mag," Carnival will be in full swing. Hosts of charming guests from colleges where examinations don't conflict will be running back and forth between the scene of one colorful event and another equally brilliant frolic. In prospect, the 17th annual Winter Carnival appears as one of the best yet staged. The Outing Club committee in general charge announces a program so full of events when coupled with fraternity functions and those delightful tetea-tetes that are recognized features of Carnival that it will take a wealth of careful planning in order to enjoy every phase of the winter festival. According to present outlooks it seems as if snow will have to be deported instead of imported. And Cold!
There are enough outdoor events alone to justify a Carnival with skiing in all its forms, snowshoe races, skating and what not not to mention the hockey game with Yale Saturday. But of course some attention is paid to warmer recreation: fraternity dances Thursday and Saturday night, a swimming meet with Yale Friday afternoon; the Players' performance of "The Chocolate Soldier" Friday, and a basketball game with Harvard Saturday night. And the grand event of the weekend, the Carnival Ball! The gondola and Venetian jazz tunes have motivated the decoration committee and the gym floor will be disguised to harmonize with the swarthy gondoliers and dark-eyed Italian maidens who will frolic to the strains of the Tech Tunesters jazzmania. No advanced publicity has been released as yet so one cannot tell whether the Connecticut is to be diverted to provide a Grand Canal Or not. So much for the immediate future.
