Dartmouth's first freshman swimming team was defeated by : the Brookline High School Interscholastic Championship swimming team by a score of 38 to 24 in a meet held in the Spaulding Pool at Hanover January 22. Mc- Birnie, of the freshman, who won the diving contest was Dartmouth's only first-place winner. Neff, of Dartmouth, gave Phillips, of Brookline a spirited contest in both the 100 yard dash and the final lap of the relay race.

The freshman basketball team continued its succession of victories by scoring over Holderness Academy 47 to 17 in Hanover January 22. Lewin's total of 19 points scored for the Dartmouth team was the high total of the game, with the freshman captain Cheney also high up in the ranking with 11 points. The freshmen also defeated the Massee School team, of Stamford, Conn., winning by a score of 44 to 8 in Alumni Gymnasium February 9. Lewin scored IS "points, Swarthout 13, and Cheney eight for Dartmouth. Lebanon High School was beaten by the freshmen by a score of 43 to 12 February 14.

At New Haven February 8 the freshman hockey team defeated the Yale freshmen by a score of 4 to 3 in a game that required an overtime period. For Dartmouth the playing of Jeremiah and Gulden featured the contest, while for Yale Captain Palmer was the outstanding player. Playing at Princeton February 17 preliminary to the Dartmouth-Princeton varsity game the freshmen skaters were defeated by a score of 4 to 1.
