Dartmouth 2—Bishops 1

Dartmouth's hockey game with Bishop's College, originally scheduled for January 19 was played January 20 in Hanover on ice so covered with water that the game was almost impossible. A goal was scored for Dartmouth in the opening period by Fryberger on a long shot which struck the skate of the Bishop's goal tender and bounced into the net. Teran, of Bishop's evened the count for his team. In the final period of play Shea added another goal for Dartmouth by shooting recklessly at the net while nine of the 12 players on the ice were grouped around him.

Dartmouth I—Yale 1

Through three extra periods which brought the total of playing time to an hour and a half Dartmouth and Yale battled to a 1 to 1 tie at New Haven January 22. Dartmouth scored first when Lane raced through the Eli team to send a vicious waist high shot past Hurd, the Yale goal tender. This score was nullified in the second period when Frey, Vaughan and Noble of Yale kept the puck in Dartmouth territory until the first named was able to evade McPhail and slide the rubber at an angle past Bott, the guardian of the Green goal. Three times it appeared that scores had been made during the extra periods that were played, twice when Vaughan, of Yale shot the puck into the Dartmouth net and once when a Dartmouth shot slid into the Yale goal. Each of these shots, however, was disallowed because of offside play.

Dartmouth s—Alumna 0

"Ted" Learnard's alumni hockey team, containing only two Dartmouth alumni proved unable to cope with the team-work of Captain Hardy's varsity players and were sent back to Boston with the short end of a 5 to 0 score as the result of a game played at Hanover February 5. The Alumni team scored in the third period when Perry accidentally put the puck in the wrong goal during a scrimmage around his cage. For Dartmouth R. Fryberger, Gardner, Milliken and Bavier scored.

Dartmouth 5—Cornell 0

At Ithaca February 7 Captain Hardy's skaters continued their strong play to score a 5 to 0 victory over Cornell. The game was played on poor ice which made team-work difficult and accounted for ragged playing on both sides. Captain Hardy, Rogers, Milliken, R. Fryberger, and Lane were Dartmouth's scorers.

Dartmouth 4—Yale 3

Continuing the battle begun at New Haven January 22, Yale and Dartmouth again went to overtime periods before a decision was awarded on the Hanover rink February 12, in a game which formed part of the Winter Carnival program. Two overtime periods were necessary before a verdict could be given and brought the Dartmouth-Yale playing time to two hours and fifty minutes for the season. Frey, on a pass from Vaughan scored the first goal of the game and put Yale ahead in the opening period. Within the next minute, however, Captain Hardy of Dartmouth had evened the score by tallying for the Green. Each team scored goals again in the second period within a few seconds of each other. Hardy netting the puck once more for Dartmouth and Vaughan retaliating for Yale on a pass from Frey. Vaughan scored again for Yale early in the third period and appeared to have won the day's honors until within the closing seconds of play Lane counted for Dartmouth from a scrimmage near the Yale net. The winning goal was eventually scored by Hardy in the second overtime period when he took a pass from R. Fryberger and whipped it past Wheelock who guarded the New Haven cage.

Dartmouth A—Princeton 1

For the second time this season the Dartmouth team proved superior to the Tiger players of Princeton by winning a 4 to 1 verdict at the Hobey Baker Memorial Rink in Princeton February 17. The Fryberger brothers, starring for Dartmouth on the offense, accounting for three of the Green tallys. Lane, who scored the other Dartmouth point also featured the game by his defensive play. The first goal of the evening was scored for Princeton when Harding slipped the puck past Dartmouth's goalie, but the Tigers were not long allowed to maintain a lead, R. Fryberger skating the length of the rink to drive the rubber furiously past Rennard, the Princeton goal tender. Dartmouth scored twice in the second period, R. Fryberger getting his second goal and W. Fryberger sending the puck once more into the net a minute later. Lane scored for Dartmouth in the third period. The game was fast and stubbornly contested throughout, Captain Davis, of Princeton, being forced to the sidelines in the second period with a bruised shoulder. Rennard, at goal for Princeton, was outstanding among the New Jersey players, his skillful playing turning aside many Dartmouth bids for scores.
