hree members of the Dartmouth 1927 championship basketball team were named in the allstar player selections, compiled by the Associated Press from the opinions of the coaches of the Eastern Intercollegiate Basketball League teams, and Captain Picken, of Dartmouth, achieved the distinction of being the only player unanimously named for first honors. The coaches were asked to select first and second teams and first team choices were scored two points while second team choices were given one point in a scoring scheme. Picken, a choice for the first team by all six of the coaches topped the list then with a score of 12 points. Simmen, olf Yiale, tihe choice of five coaches as center for the first team, received 11 points, Gartner, of Princeton, who was teamed as a forward with Picken, gathered 10 points. Deveau, of Cornell, and Lorch, of Columbia, were the choices for the guard positions, the former receiving 9 points and the latter 8. For the second team Schaef, of Pennsylvania, with 5 points, and Davenport, also of Pennsylvania, with 4 points were the choices as forwards. Langdell, of Dartmouth, was scored with five points and given the center position on the second team, while Austin, also of Dartmouth was named as one of the guards, and paired with Miles, of Princeton. Austin was scored for 4 points and Miles for S. Vossler, of Dartmouth, also figured in the scoring, rceiving 2 points, and Heep was given 3 points.
