Frederic N. Chandler, for many years associate justice of the Lawrence, Mass., District Court, has been appointed justice by Governor Alvan T. Fuller.
Samuel P. Hunt, who recently returned to his home city of Manchester to take a position with the New Hampshire Public Service Company, talked to the Kiwanis Club of Manchester at one of its meetings on improved methods of generating current, and the UnionLeader said the talk was "one of the best of the year."
Captain Horace French, father of Samuel P. French, died at West Lebanon February 14, two days before his 90th birthday. He was a widely known veteran of the Civil War. Of his eight children only Samuel P. survives.
Annual March meetings in New Hampshire saw several '93 men honored by election to office. At Derry Rev. F. N. Saltmarsh was chosen to the school board and Edwin B. Weston trustee of trust funds. Bow made Rufus H. Baker chairman of the committee in charge of its 200 th anniversary celebration. Austin Calef was elected auditor of Barrington; James V. Sellings, - trustee of trust funds at Surry.
Rev. A. J. Holley of Peterborough was one of the Bishops' Crusade committee for the diocese of New Hampshire.
